Star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s wife, Rivaba Jadeja, shared a picture of the veteran cricketer’s membership card of the Bharatiya Janata Party. For the unversed, Rivaba is a Member of Parliament from Jamnagar North Assembly constituency in the same party. The BJP has started a membership program to make the younger generation aware of the changes the government has made in the country.
It is worth noting that Rivaba joined the BJP in 2019 and contested from the Jamnagar assembly seat in 2022. She defeated Karshanbhai Karmur of the AAP party. Speaking of the membership program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first person to renew his membership. The party aims to enroll two crore primary members in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, Jadeja retired from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win on June 27. The 35-year-old displayed a subdued performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 as he picked just one wicket playing all the games.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support,” Jadeja wrote in his retirement post.

The all-rounder missed the subsequent white-ball series against Sri Lanka. He was included in the Duleep Trophy. However, he was withdrawn after being named in India B’s squad, with no reason being specified by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) behind the withdrawal. Jadeja is expected to be back in action when India hosts Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting September 19 in Chennai.
