Star England batter Harry Brook continued his sound form as he scored his second century in the ongoing Test series against New Zealand. On Day 1 of the second Test, being played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, the hosts won the toss and invited the English side to bat first. After the top-order collapse, with the help of Harry Brook and Ollie Pope’s 170-odd-run partnership, England scored 280 runs.
Brook reached his eighth Test century as he ended his knock on 123 off just 115 balls. It is worth noting that, he also scored a century in the first Test in Christchurch and added 150 odd runs along with Pope to rescue England. Former England cricketer, Michael Vaughan was all praise on Brook’s consecutive centuries and termed him as quite cunning.
“He’s an incredibly confident kid with a very clever, smart cricket brain. He has made eight centuries now in 23 games and he is averaging near on 100 away from home, with six centuries,” Vaughan told foxsports.com.au
“We’re talking about someone like Yashasvi Jaiswal, who understandably is getting talked about as being this generational player, but let’s be honest, Harry Brook is right up there as well, if not above that,” he added.
‘It is like a Brendon McCullum approach’ – Warner on Brook’s batting

Speaking of Brook, former Australia opener, David Warner stated that it is England’s Head Coach’s approach that is working for Brook. He compared Brook’s batting style to none other than the legendary former New Zealand batter and the current England Head Coach, Brendon McCullum.
“It is a bit like a Brendon McCullum approach, wasn’t it, the way that he bats? He’s always been identified as a talent and a special guy moving forward,” said Warner.
