India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur had a straightforward response to a Bangladeshi presenter after the latter mistakenly addressed her as ‘Jemimah Rodrigues’ during the post-match presentation. Notably, the Women in Blue got on level terms in the ongoing ODI series following a resounding 108-run victory against Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, July 19.
Following the win, during the post-match presentation, the Bangladeshi presenter called up both captains to reflect on their thoughts regarding the match. However, after having a word with the Indian skipper, the presenter addressed her as ‘Jemimah Rodrigues’ upon which the former had a brilliant response.

“Thank you very much, Jemimah! And congratulations,” the presenter told during the post-match presentation.
“Harmanpreet Kaur, thank you!” responded the Indian skipper before leaving the stage with a smile.
“Harmanpreet, beg your pardon,” the presenter corrected himself then.
Team India get back on level terms against Bangladesh
Speaking about the match, Jemimah Rodrigues dazzled with the bat and with the ball, which proved to be pivotal in India’s win in the second ODI. Jemimah’s career best with the bat and ball included her scoring 86 off 78 balls which featured nine boundaries, and later followed it with a magnificent four-wicket haul for just three runs in 3.1 overs of her spell.
The skipper too played an invaluable knock as she scored a calculative fifty (52 off 88 balls) and raised a 73-run stand with Jemimah before she took a blow to her left wrist. Having notched up her fifty against Bangladesh, Harmanpreet recorded her 18th ODI half-century.
Speaking about her injury, the skipper had to retire hurt after sustaining the blow to her wrist in the 37th over while completing a single. She eventually walked off the field in pain after having scored 48 runs off 80 balls. Despite the injury, she walked back to the field in the 47th over and concluded her innings with 52 runs before heading back to the pavilion. With a solid win, team India will look to keep their momentum intact and clinch the series in the upcoming ODI match.
