‘Happy that the journey is continuing’ – Jasprit Bumrah after being retained by Mumbai Indians

Even though there were widespread rumors close to the IPL retention deadline on October 31 regarding some players, there were some confirmations and absolute no-brainer retentions on cards for the franchises. Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah belonged to the latter category, as he was the top retention of his franchise at INR 18 crore.

Immediately after the five retentions were announced by the franchise, Bumrah expressed gratitude for his prolonged association with MI. He also shed light on his ambitious younger self. “It feels good. I came here as a 19-year-old teenager. Now, I’m going to turn 31, so it’s been a complete journey. I’m happy that the journey is continuing. There’s no better feeling. I had a lot of belief in my ability. I did not want to be just any cricketer, I wanted to do more. I wanted to do special things,” stated an ever-grinning Bumrah.
