During the ongoing fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the Indian captain Rohit Sharma was heard advising young Yashasvi Jaiswal about how to field at silly point position.

During Australia’s innings, Ravindra Jadeja was bowling to Steve Smith while attempting a defensive shot that went towards Jaiswal at a silly point. Instead of positioning himself to stop the ball, Jaiswal jumped to dodge it. Rohit’s advice to Jaiswal was captured on stump mic, where Rohit told the youngster to not move until the ball was played.

“Ay Jaisu, Gully cricket khel raha hai kya. Niche baith ke reh. Jab tak ball khelega nahi, uthne ka nahi. Niche baith ke reh,” Rohit said.

Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne added crucial half-centuries by the third session of Day 1.
