Mumbai Indians, after suffering a defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings in the last game, will now travel to Ahmedabad as they face Gujarat Titans in match number 35 of Indian Premier League 2023 at the world’s largest stadium- the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 25, 2023.
Mumbai Indians came close to a win in their previous game while chasing a massive 215, but lost by a close margin. Despite the loss, the players would see the positives from the game as Suryakumar Yadav gained back his form. The last game also witnessed a vintage Suryakumar Yadav innings, where he smacked fifty off just 23 balls bringing up his fastest IPL fifty.
Skipper Rohit Sharma has also had good outings in the recent times. Cameron green too scored a couple of half-centuries, but for MI, Tilak Varma is the go-to man as he has so far aggregated 217 runs in six games played at an average of 43.40. In the bowling department, Piyush Chawla has been brilliant as he accounted for 9 wickets in six games. MI will look to bounce back the winning ways.
Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, will be coming into the contest after a magnificent victory over LSG in the previous game. They did the unthinkable task by defending 29 runs in 36 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants. With this they have four wins out of six games and are currently placed at fourth place in the points table.
Hardik Pandya produced a captain’s knock of 66 from fifty balls promoting himself up the order in the previous game against LSG. Shubman Gill has been their stand-out performer, aggregating 228 runs in as many as six games at an average of 38. In the bowling department, Rashid Khan has accounted for 12 wickets while Mohammed Shami has picked up 10 wickets in as many as six games. GT would look to keep the winning momentum going.
