Be it any person from any age group, ace India pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, never fails to impress with what he has to offer with the ball. This is regardless of the format of cricket being played.

It seems as if Akash Deep, although only two international games old, has already been enchanted by the wizadry of Bumrah. In a recent discussion, he expressed just the same by comparing himself to a species made by as divine an entity as god itself. He also sheds light on the topics of discussion he engages himself with the pacer.

“I regularly talk to him and observe his bowling. Woh (Jasprit Bumrah) bilkul alag hain, bhagwaan ne unhe alag hi banaaya hai (he’s completely different, god has made him different). I take a lot of tips from him and have learned a lot. I discussed ‘mindset’ with him and once asked him about the mindset while bowling to a particular batter. He provided me with valuable tips and answers to my query,” stated Akash, as quoted by India Today.

Further speaking on the same topic, Akash praised Bumrah even more and made it clear that it was and will not at all be easy to fill Bumrah’s boots or even be as good as him, just because of the sheer intelligence he possesses.

“He is such a knowledgeable person, and that reflects in his bowling. His ability to read a batter before he bowls is amazing. He is a gifted bowler, and it’s not easy to follow in his footsteps,” added Akash.

The back injury which Bumrah incurred never showed any repercussions, as the pace bowler has only gone from strength to strength ever since his return to international cricket in August 2023. He ended as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the 50-over World Cup last year, and ended up topping the charts in the longest format’s ICC rankings in February of this year.
