The Global T20 Canada 2023 has been an exhilarating affair so far as fans have witnessed numerous riveting matches in the tournament. The sixth match between Mississauga Panthers and Montreal Tigers on Sunday, July 23, played at CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario was no different as the two teams were seen giving a tough fight to each other.

During the game, some bizarre scenes were also witnessed on the field as Montreal offspinner Dilpreet Singh missed an easy run out chance. During the last over of the first innings, Dilpreet bowled a full-length delivery to James Neesham who drove it to deep mid-wicket. The ball went straight to Abbas Afridi who fumbled a bit while collecting it but managed to throw it back to Dilpreet with his bullet arm.

The off-spinner had a great opportunity to run out Usman Qadir at the non-striker’s end however he failed to collect the throw and ended up hitting the stumps with bare hands as the ball rolled away from him. Dilpreet’s fumble gave enough time to Qadir to complete a double.

The mis-fielding exacerbated things for Dilpreet who was already in the middle of an expensive over. He ended up leaking 18 runs in the final over as he was taken to cleaners by James Neesham who scored a splendid half-century (54* off 35). Courtesy of his knock, Panthers finished their innings on 140/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chris Lynn’s blitzkrieg helped his side chase down the target in 15.5 overs

However, the target proved to be too low for Tigers who made a complete mockery of the chase and achieved their target in just 15.5 overs. Chris Lynn was the star of the show who smacked an unbeaten 64* off 45 balls with the help of nine fours and a six. Tigers’ Kaleem Sana was awarded Player of the Match for his spell of 3/8 in four overs.

With this win, the Chris Lynn-led side continued their unbeaten run in the tournament so far as they sit on the second spot on the points table having won both of their matches so far.
