Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg is full of praise for Australia’s Cameron Green, reckoning that he is currently one of the best fielders in the ‘Gully’ region in the entire world. The Gully fielder is an extension of the line of slips.
The former cricketer voiced his praise for the young all-rounder following his performance in the ongoing Ashes Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham. In the ninth over of England’s second innings, Green dove to the right to complete a mind-boggling catch of opener Ben Duckett. Notably, the batter edged one to the Gully, which was taken exceptionally by the Aussie.
In the opening innings, the 24-year-old picked up a wicket, dismissing veteran England pacer Stuart Broad. Meanwhile, during Australia’s first innings, he reached his 1000-run mark in Test cricket. He demonstrated his batting prowess by hitting 38 runs off 68 balls, including four boundaries and a six, before being dismissed by Moeen Ali.
Hogg took to Twitter and shared some photos of the Aussie all-rounder and captioned it, “Give me a Gully fielder that comes close to Cam Green’s standards. I’ll wait.”
