One of the best all-rounders and former skipper of the Afghanistan cricket team, the 38-year-old, Mohammad Nabi, recently came forward to announce his plan to fund the building of a cancer hospital in Afghanistan. He also revealed that the hospital would be built in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health.
The former skipper revealed his plan to build the hospital named, Addei Cancer Hospital, in a meeting held on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day. The day is used as a medium to spread awareness about the disease related to a blood disorder. Furthermore, Nabi also stated that the hospital would have a specialised department for the treatment of Thalassemia patients as reported by TOLOnews.
Being a genetic blood disorder that affects many Afghan citizens, Nabi stressed the importance of providing the best healthcare to the citizens and also raising awareness about the disease. Notably, the disease is a genetic disorder, whereby the production of haemoglobin is lesser than usual.
