Both India and New Zealand have an array of big-ticket cricketers in their respective batting lineups of the ongoing Test at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, the two centurions up until now have been Rachin Ravindra and Sarfaraz Khan. Despite them having only a fistful of Tests in the international arena which doesn’t count for a lot of experience, their talent has spoken a lot for them.

Former India great, Sachin Tendulkar, took to X to share a heartwarming tweet on the aforementioned cricketers. Lauding the youngsters for their splendid performances which have taken the cricketing fraternity to spark some serious discussions in relation to them, he went onto talk about the distinctive affinity which Ravindra had for the city of Bengaluru. He further touched upon the significance of Sarfaraz’s ton in the context of the match.

The 134 that Ravindra scored wasn’t the first time he notched a century in Bengaluru. The previous year’s World Cup saw the southpaw score a crucial ton against Pakistan at the same venue, hence the reference made by Sachin.

Sarfaraz, Pant fuel surge before rain douses India’s blaze

With Virat Kohli getting dismissed on the final delivery of Day 3’s play, there were quite a few speculations of Sarfaraz and the new batter joining him at the start of play to take things easy in the morning session. Pant walking in was enough to clarify the intent the Indian camp wanted to implement in their endeavours.

They put on an unbeaten 113-run stand which saw Sarafaraz bringing up his maiden international ton and Pant getting in on the act thereafter, scurrying away to register an impressive half-century before a slight drizzle.
