England Women have released their squad for the upcoming Women’s Ashes 2025, to be played in Australia. They will be featuring in three ODIs, as many T20Is, and a sole Test against Australia Women. Notably, the tour is scheduled to commence on January 12, 2025.

Wicketkeeper-batter, Bess Heath, has finally regained fitness and finds herself in the T20I and Test squads for the upcoming series. Heath was unlucky to miss the recent tour to South Africa due to a fractured thumb. Maiden Ashes call-ups have been handed to Freya Kemp, Linsey Smith, and Ryanna MacDonald-Gay.

The first two names have been shortlisted only for the T20Is. Heath and MacDonald-Gay were recently handed out development contracts by the England & Wales Cricket Board. MacDonald-Gay impressed in the one-off Test against South Africa Women. 18-year-old left-arm fast medium-pacer, Mahika Gaur, will travel with the squad despite not having recovered completely from the injury which ruled her out of the South African tour.

Ahead of the series, England will play against Governor General’s XI for a 50-over game. The tour will conclude with the first-ever day-night Test at the MCG. In the last Women’s Ashes in 2023, Australia won the red-ball game before England came back to emerge victorious in the white-ball leg of the series.
