Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan recently announced the name of his newly-formed franchise, Dhaka Capitals, ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Durdanto Dhaka owners sold the franchise to Remark and Herlan, who are desperate to make a mark in the 11th edition of the BPL. The franchise has signed star batter Litton Das in the players’ draft on October 14.
Litton has played 92 T20Is for Bangladesh and scored 2003 runs at a strike rate of 125.57. He recently featured in the T20I series against India, where he scored 60 runs in three games. As things stand, Litton can be made the next captain of the Dhaka franchise but the team management has not finalised anything.

Notably, Litton was part of the Comilla Victorians squad for three years, before Sylhet Strikers signed him in the 2018-19 season. In the following year, he joined Rangpur Riders before joining Comilla again for the 2021-22 season. He stayed there for three seasons before switching to Dhaka Capitals. Overall, he has played 95 games in the tournament, scoring 2075 runs at a strike rate of 127.69.
Dhaka sign Abu Jayed, Sabbir Rahman, Shadadat Dipu
Apart from Litton, Saim Ayub and Amir Hamza, Dhaka also signed Abu Jayed, Sabbir Rahman, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Munim Shahriar, Mukidul Islam, and Habibur Rahman Sohan in the players’ draft.
Jayed, who has played three T20Is for Bangladesh, was part of the Comilla franchise in the last edition, when he picked five wickets in two games. Overall, he has 62 wickets at an average of 21.35 in 55 games. Meanwhile, Shabbir Rahman, who has played 48 T20Is for Bangladesh and scored 977 runs at an average of 23.26, and was part of the Khulna Tigers last season, has also been roped in by the franchise.
