The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League is gradually making its way to the hearts of the fans as the five franchises are giving one riveting contest after the other for the fans to enjoy. The fifth match of the tournament was no different as Delhi Capitals and UP Warriors went up against each other on Tuesday, March 7 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.

The duo put on 67 runs for the first wicket in 39 balls with skipper Lanning taking major care of the scoring process.
Verma, 17(14), couldn’t get on with her innings and perished soon after Tahila McGrath dismissed her. However, Lanning continued her brilliant form at the other end and scored runs at a brisk pace. She went on to score 70 off 42 balls smashing 10 fours and three sixes in her innings at a strike rate of 166.67.
Following her dismissal, Alice Capsey played a brilliant cameo of 21 off 10 balls.
