The first day of the IPL 2025 auction lived up to its promise as the franchises fiercely competed during the event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, November 24. There were plenty of surprises in store for cricket enthusiasts as the auction dynamics brought up intriguing scenarios.

The second day of the auction will take place at the same venue on Monday as teams will look to complete their squads with key additions. Rishabh Pant created history on Day 1 as he became the most expensive player of all time in the cash-rich league.

The wicketkeeper-batter was roped in by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 27 crore. Meanwhile, IPL 2024-winning captain Shreyas Iyer joined Punjab Kings for INR 26.75 crore. Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 crore) reunited with Kolkata Knight Riders, while Arshdeep Singh (INR 18 crore) and Yuzvendra Chahal (INR 18 crore) joined Punjab Kings.
