David Warner’s daughters interview cricketers, video goes viral

Veteran Australia batter David Warner’s daughters Ivy Mae and Indi Rae turned journalists and were spotted interviewing some distinguished figures in cricket like Ravi Shastri, Michael Hussey, Pat Cummins, Brad Haddin, and Alyssa Healy. Australia are gearing up for a three-match Test series against Pakistan, beginning on December 14 at Optus Stadium in Perth. Notably, the forthcoming series will mark the southpaw’s last red-ball series.

Ivy, Warner’s daughter, asked former India cricketer and head coach Shastri about the cricketer he’s eager to watch this summer. To which, the 61-year-old responded with admiration for her father.

“He has been entertaining us with his batting for so many years, it’s your dad,” the former cricketer said in the video shared by Kayo Sports.

In the later part of the video, Ivy asked Hussey, Cummins, and Healy about their idols in the game during their childhood. Hussey stated that it was Allan Border, while Cummins recalled his love and respect for Brett Lee. Healy, on the other hand, opened up about her admiration for former Australia captains Ricky Ponting and Belinda Clarke.

Meanwhile, Ivy’s younger sibling, Indi was seen interviewing former wicketkeeper-batter Brad Haddin. Haddin shared his current favourite players, including Pat Cummins and Steve Smith, playfully struggling to recall David Warner’s name. Apart from all these, there was a funny exchange between Ivy and Hussey when she asked about his most annoying teammate and the cricketer picked Warner with a laugh.

Warner is coming after a successful campaign in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India, where Australia clinched the title for the record sixth time defeating the hosts in the final. The 37-year-old was the side’s leading run scorer, having accumulated 535 runs from 11 games, including two centuries at an average of 48.63. In Tests, Warner amassed a total of 8487 runs so far including 25 centuries at an average of 44.43. His best score in the format came against Pakistan in 2019 at Adelaide Oval where he hit an unbeaten 335 runs.
