India captain Rohit Sharma continued his record-breaking spree in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as he registered the most number of sixes by a batter in ODIs in a calendar year. The 36-year-old achieved the feat during Match 45 of the tournament against Netherlands on Sunday, November 12 at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
The opening batter achieved the milestone during the seventh over of the innings as he hit Colin Ackerman for a six straight down the ground. With his shot, Sharma left behind legendary South Africa batter AB de Villiers who had smacked 58 sixes in 2015.
