CPL 2025 to be held from August 14 to September 21

West Indies’ very own T20 league, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), is bracing for its 13th edition. The league which has garnered attention with players all around the world featuring for their respective franchises, will see its next edition get underway from August 14, 2025. The tournament will conclude on September 21, 2025 with the final and the organizers have assured that it will not clash with West Indies’ international games. 

A total of 30 league-stage matches will be played between six teams with four knockout games, comprising the eliminator, two qualifiers, and the final. Incidentally, St Lucia Kings emerged victorious in the 2024 edition beating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. Other teams are Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. It is worth noting that, Jamaica Tallawahs were replaced by the new franchise Antigua and Barbuda Falcons ahead of CPL 2024.

“We are pleased to have once again worked with Cricket West Indies to find a window that allows the very best players from across the region to take part in the CPL. The 2024 season was our most successful to date and we are looking forward to building on that success in 2025,” said Pete Russell, the CPL chief executive as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. 

Also, Lynford Inverary, acting CEO and COO of CWI said, “While CWI continues to take a leading role in shaping our overall cricket calendar, the CPL remains a key part of our cricketing ecosystem, playing an important role in the development and promotion of the game throughout the Caribbean.”

The organizers mentioned that the teams will get a draft as well as a round of pre-draft signings to set up their respective squads. Notably, venues, fixtures, and other details will be announced soon.
