One of Chennai’s tested overseas batters, Devon Conway has been in scintillating form for the MS Dhoni-led side in the ongoing IPL 2023. Conway once again exercised his role up the order to perfectly time the ball in all directions as the Kiwi star notched up yet another half-century in the tournament. Playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the latter’s home ground in Bengaluru, Conway perfectly capitalized on the small size of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to smash fours and sixes at ease to craft his magnificent half-century in just 32 deliveries.
After CSK lost Ruturaj Gaikwad early on in the innings, it was the duo of Conway and Ajinkya Rahane who took the RCB bowlers to the flyers, putting up a 74-run stand for the second wicket, amassed over just 43 deliveries. Rahane too aided Conway well in his mission as the veteran Indian scored 37 runs off just 20 deliveries, over three fours and two sixes.
For RCB, Mohammad Siraj and Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed Gaikwad and Rahane respectively.
