Shoriful Islam said that India are a more experienced Test side than Pakistan but hoped that Bangladesh will be able to do well in the two-match Test series against Rohit Sharma’s men, starting next week.

Bangladesh scripted history earlier this month as they won a Test series against Pakistan for the first time. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Co. won both the Tests that were played in Rawalpindi to whitewash the home side. However, Shoriful admitted that beating India in India will be a different ball game. The left-arm seamer, however, knows that a solid performance against the two-time World Test Championship (WTC) finalists will be a massive shot in the arm for the Bangla Tigers.

“Compared to Pakistan, India are more experienced in Test cricket. India are a big team and I feel that if we do well against them, we will be followed worldwide and everyone will look at us. If we can do well in India, it will make us happy. We are working hard, and we hope for the results to go our way,” Shoriful told Bangladesh Cricket.

“We try and start with a win because we had a decent series against Pakistan. Everyone is confident, and we will try our best and make use of the confidence,” the 23-year-old added.

India are placed at the top of the WTC points table for the ongoing cycle. They will look to consolidate their position with a positive result against their neighbours. Meanwhile, Bangladesh moved to No. 4 on the points table after their memorable tour of Pakistan. They will look to continue from where they left off in Rawalpindi.
