‘Choose your role models wisely’- Mohammad Kaif takes a dig at Siraj after Bumrah’s restrained celebration of Head’s wicket

The Indian camp was in the mood for celebration as Australia star batter Travis Head was dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) after two big centuries in the last two games of the series.

The breakthrough was brought about by Jasprit Bumrah who bowled an inswinger that came back from way outside off stump as Head did not attempt a shot and saw his stumps getting rattled in the end. Many experts praised the delivery from Bumrah and one of them included Mohammad Kaif who tweeted about being happy about the way the Indian bowler celebrated the wicket. Kaif also took a slight dig at Mohammed Siraj for the manner in which he celebrated Head’s wicket during the Adelaide Test.

“How does Bumrah celebrate the dismissal of Australia’s main man Travis Head? No over-the-top celebration, no angry send-off, just a smile. Kids learn, choose your role models wisely,” Kaif wrote on X.

Bumrah leading the attack once again

Jasprit Bumrah has been the best bowler for India in this series so far and continued with his form in the Boxing Day Test as well. The 31-year-old pacer ended the day with figures of 3/75 in his 21 overs and helped India get some relief on the day which was still very much in favour of the Australians.

This brings Bumrah’s tally to 24 wickets in the series and he will be looking to finish off the Australian tail as soon as possible on Day 2 to make sure the Indian batters get a chance to take the lead in the first innings and put pressure on the Australians as they look to retain the Border-Gavaskar title for the fourth consecutive time.
