India youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi has managed to catch every headline after he became the youngest IPL cricketer. The 13-year-old was roped in by Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 1.1 crore. It is worth noting that at such a tender age, Suryavanshi has made people notice him through his performances.
He recently represented India at the U19 Asia Cup and even put in some good showings. Despite having earned widespread appreciation for his exploits, former Pakistan cricketer Junaid Khan was doubtful of the youngster’s actual age.
Taking to social media, Junaid Khan reacted to a clip of Suryavanshi hitting a six and asked the question if a 13-year-old can even hit a six that long. “Can a 13-year-old kid really hit such a long six????” Junaid Khan captioned the post.

We don’t fear anyone, Can again undergo age test: Suryavanshi’s father
It is interesting to note that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s age has been questioned several times. There have been many people who have raised the question about his real age, and with the age fraud allegations consistently coming in, the 13-year-old’s father, Sanjiv, has come forward and opined that they can undergo any test to prove that they are not lying.
“When he was eight and half years old, he first appeared for a BCCI bone test. He has already played India U-19. We don’t fear anyone. He can again undergo age test,” Suryavanshi’s father was quoted as saying by News24.
It is worth noting that Suryavanshi was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 mega auction, and the youngster will look to make the most of the opportunity presented to him. Playing under stars like Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and many more, the 13-year-old will look to learn and hope to get a chance in the playing XI if possible.
