Indian cricket’s world champion skipper Rohit Sharma found himself in a funny situation during a promotional event in Dallas, USA. Fans began chanting the name of Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, prompting a calm and humorous response from the veteran that has since gone viral on social media.

The chants were a reference to a memorable moment from the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024, where Sharma dominated Starc, scoring 29 runs off a single over in a crucial Super Eight match. This brilliant batting display helped India set up a commanding total against Australia at the Daren Sammy International Cricket Stadium in Saint Lucia.

Notably, at the launch of a cricket academy in Dallas, where the 37-year-old was present with his family, fans started to playfully heckle him with “Mitchell Starc” chants. The event host quickly intervened, asking the crowd to be respectful towards the Indian cricketer. It was at this moment that Sharma responded with coolness, saying, “Calm down, guys.” This simple yet effective response drew loud cheers from the room, diffusing the situation with humour.
