The horrific brutality with late postgraduate trainee doctor on the fateful night of August 9 has created a nationwide stir. There has been a constant outcry throughout the country demanding justice for the victim as well as the implentation of stricter laws to prevent such heinous crimes.

Yuzvendra Chahal, recently joined the list of cricketers speaking up on the grievous incident, as he posted an Instagram story on August 21 with an impactful message against the perpetrators. However, the cricketer later removed the story.

“Hang till death? Nope. Break their legs at 90°, shatter their collarbones, injure their private parts, keep the rapists alive to feel all the horrifying torture and THEN HANG TILL DEATH,” read a post shared on Chahal’s Instagram story.

Coming to Chahal’s whereabouts, he is currently representing Northamptonshire in the One-Day Cup 2024. Having played his last competitive fixture in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League, he returned with a bang as he registered phenomenal figures of 10-5-14-5.

Along with Chahal, Prithvi Shaw is representing Northamptonshire as well. While Shaw might have to do something extraordinary in terms of his outings in the competition, Chahal seems more likely of the two to be in the reckoning of India’s white-ball side for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh at home.
