Indian team is sweating hard in the practice sessions at the WACA Stadium in Perth, before the first Test at the Optus Stadium, starting on November 22. The team is grappling hard with injury concerns and Shubman Gill, who injured his thumb might sit out for the first Test. But amidst all the fervour, India’s bowling coach seemed satisfied with the performance of the bowlers.
It is worth noting that Jasprit Bumrah is braced for not only the Indian pace attack but also the team as Rohit Sharma is likely to be unavailable for the first Test. The pace unit comprises Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Harshith Rana and Nitish Reddy. Morkel, while speaking of Siraj, lauded the aggressive mindset of the veteran and quipped that he was excited to see him on the tour.
“Very happy with how the bowlers went. They summed up conditions very well. I think we on track for the 22nd. So another three training sessions left. We’ll sit down this afternoon or tomorrow and start planning, looking at game plans and how we’re going to bring out the best and edge in every one for game time on 22nd,” said Morkel in a video uploaded by BCCI.

“This man [Siraj] is a legend. He’s got a big heart, aggressive mindset, one of the leaders of the attack. And I’m very excited to see how he goes in this tour. Last tour he was the go-to man in tough situations. And we’re excited to see more of that senior role coming out of him on a very important tour,” he added.
Uncertainty still looms over Rohit Sharma’s participation in Perth Test
Speaking of Rohit, the India captain welcomed his second child along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and is currently in Mumbai. It was reported that the India opener had requested BCCI to allow him some time to spend with his family and that he might appear in the second Test against Australia in Adelaide.
