Ben Stokes reveals burglars broke into house while wife and children were inside

Renowned all-rounder and Test Captain of England Ben Stokes revealed on his social media handle that his residence in the Castle Eden area in the North East was looted while he was in Pakistan for the recently concluded three-match Test series.

While putting out an appeal, Stokes described the minor details of how the distressing incident played out. The prolific cricketer mentioned that he would release the images of the stolen stuff, and was firm in his purpose for doing so. Understandably so, he was relieved that none of his family members were harmed during the robbery.

Last but not least, the Christchurch-born thanked the prompt endeavors of the police who, according to him, had provided physical and psychological support to the three immediate members about the incident. Notably, the episode transpired in the midst of England’s second Test in Multan. It was the same game that marked his return to the side after a hamstring injury left him sidelined for the entire home series against Sri Lanka and the first rubber of the Pakistan series.

Stokes’ medals of the highest order as per British customs were also stolen

Out of the precious commodities that Ben Stokes posted on his Instagram in a bid to recover them, it seems as if the medal for the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MEOBE), which he had received in 2020 for his services to cricket, had been stolen as well.

Coming back to the cricketing realm, it was an unfortunate comeback for Stokes as his side lost the series by a 2-1 margin with the games in which Stokes featured going in the name of the hosts. Pakistan’s spin threat was too unyielding to douse as the England batting order was blown away like a whiff of smoke.
