Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has handed the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to two of their top stars, in the form of Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das to feature in the third edition of the GT20 league in Canada. Notably, BCB often denies NOC to players in order to keep them engaged in international cricket as players found it difficult to play all the matches of the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) and previously, in the county championship as well.
Notably, Shakib will be available for the tournament from July 20 to July 29, while Litton will be available for selection for the entire tournament, which will end on August 6. The chairman of the cricket operations in Bangladesh, Jalal Yunus, confirmed the latest developments and stated that since there was no international fixture BCB had no problem giving them NOC.
“Shakib’s NOC to play the Global T20 League was granted and he asked for NOC from July 20 till July 29. Liton is also going. He had asked for NOC to play from July 20 till August 6. Both their NOCs were granted,” Jalal was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“There is no national duty right now and they (Shakib and Litton) were given clearance after discussions with the head coach and the management. The competitive games that they can play in this period before the World Cup is good for us,” he added.
Shakib Al Hasan will take part in the Lanka Premier League post GT20 Canada
Notably, after playing in GT20, Shakib Al Hasan will straight head to Sri Lanka to play in the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League. After the competition of the same, the senior cricketer will be joining the national squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. Bangladesh will first travel to Pakistan to play against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
After that, if they manage to qualify for the next round, the team will travel to Sri Lanka for the remainder of the competition. Notably, as things stand, the Asia Cup is all set to begin on August 31.
