Bangladesh and South Africa are all set to continue their ongoing Test series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, from Tuesday, October 29.
The first Test of the series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, did not go as planned for Bangladesh as South Africa registered a convincing win to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Bangladesh came into bat first and managed only a paltry 106 runs in the first innings. In response, the Proteas scored 308 to take a healthy lead.
Bangladesh had a much-improved performance in the second innings, as they amassed 307 on the back of a 97-run knock by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. However, they could only set a 106-run target, which was too meager for the visitors to chase down, who eventually did it with seven wickets in their hands.
With a hefty loss in the first Test, Bangladesh will hope to give a tougher fight to their opponents in the second game in the hopes of leveling the series.
