Ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Bangladesh are all set to tour the USA for a three-game T20I series in May 2024, one month before the start of the T20 World Cup. The team will use the series to prepare for the marquee tournament that lies ahead.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh have played in the USA in two T20Is in their history, which were against the West Indies. Furthermore, the USA will be playing against Canada in a five-match T20I series in April, with Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston, Texas, hosting the proceedings.
Ahead of the series, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, CEO of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), came forward to highlight the importance of the series against the USA and how it will help the national team adapt to the condition.
“For the Bangladesh Team, this tour serves as an ideal platform to acclimatise to the conditions ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, we recognise the significance of this preparatory phase and are committed to making the most of this invaluable experience,” Nizam Uddin Chowdhury was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
