Sri Lanka and Bangladesh meet each other in match 38 of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on November 6 2023.

Sri Lanka come into the contest on the back of a repeat of the Asia Cup finals as Mohammed Siraj yet again decimated the Lankan top order, eventually getting bowled out for 55 runs, losing by a 302-run margin. With just two wins in seven games, they are placed in seventh position in the points table.

Sri Lankan batters at the top have fared well in the tournament except in the last game, with Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Pathum Nissanka all have scored above 250 runs while in the bowling department, Dilshan Madushanka has been phenomenal, picking up 18 wickets in seven games with one four-fer and a five-fer to his name.

Despite losing by a massive margin, Sri Lanka are still in the contest if they win the next two games by a huge margin and the other results go their way. Sri Lanka will look to erase their last game memories and bounce back their winning ways in the next games.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have had an awful tournament, as they were the first team to get knocked out of the World Cup. They lost six games out of seven they played. Mahmudullah was the only batter for Bangladesh who was consistent in the tournament, as he aggregated 274 runs in six games with one century, while Litton Das scored 225 runs in as many as seven games.

In the bowling department, Mehidy Hasan Miraz has picked up nine wickets, while Shoriful Islam has picked up eight. Bangladesh will look to bounce back the winning ways to confirm their Champions Trophy berth.
