Star Indian all-rounder Axar Patel has been in exceptional form for most of 2023. From his performances in the 16th edition of the IPL to his performances for Team India, Axar delivered almost every time he was a part of the tea,.

Axar showed his class again in the fourth T20I of the ongoing five-game series between India and Australia. While defending a target of 175 runs in Raipur, Axar took three brilliant wickets for India and conceded just 16 runs in the four overs that he bowled.

Seeing his performance, Indian batter Abhinav Mukund lauded Axar’s ability to make the most of the opportunities that are presented to him, or whenever he is called up for the Indian team.

In a game where every bowler was under pressure, Axar Patel put pressure on the batters: Abhinav Mukund

“I think it’s quite easy, to be honest. In a game where every single bowler was put under a little bit of pressure, one bowler who put pressure on the batters was Axar Patel, and I think what he enjoyed the most was the fact that maybe Glenn Maxwell was missing,” Mukund said said on Sports 18 while naming the top player of the game.

“To me, Axar Patel is a bit unlucky, in the whole context of it, in terms of not getting enough opportunities, but whenever he gets opportunities, he does well. He has again put his hat in the ring by saying, ‘This is me, this is my skill set, and this is what I do best.’ Deservedly to me, he is the top performer today,” he added.

Axar was crucial to the Indian team getting the early lead in their defence, dismissing Travis Head and Aaron Hardie. As a result, India overpowered the Aussies to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. Both sides will assemble in Bangalore for the fifth and final T20I on Sunday, December 3.
