Women Ashes 1st ODI (Source: Sky Sports)
Australia Women (AUS-W) are set to host England Women (ENG-W) in the ongoing Women’s Ashes 2025. Notably, both sides will lock horns in the second ODI at Junction Oval, in Melbourne, on Tuesday, January 14. The Aussie women won the first ODI of the series by a comfortable four-wicket margin and they will hope to put in another good showing.
The first ODI of the series was held in North Sydney on January 12, and the clash saw England coming in to bat first after losing the toss and posting a total of 204 runs on the board. Skipper Heather Knight’s 39-run knock and valuable additions from Danni Wyatt-Hodge (38) and Amy Jones (31) were the best the visitors had to offer in the first ODI. As for Australia, Ashleigh Gardner was their highest wicket-taker with three wickets to her name.
Chasing 205, the Alyssa Healy-led team put in a brilliant performance with the skipper’s 70-run knock while Ashleigh Gardner added 42 as Australia won the game by four wickets.

Pitch Report
The Junction Oval in Melbourne has been a fortress for the Aussies as they have won not lost even a single game at the venue. Out of the nine matches played here, Australia have won eight while a solitary game during their most recent series against West Indies ended without a result. The venue is not a high-scoring one when it comes to 50-over cricket, with a fair bit of assistance available for the bowlers.
