Former Australia cricketer Darren Lehmann recently came forward and gave his prediction of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Lehmann opined that Australia will go on to defeat India 3-1 in the marquee series and will kick off the series with a win in Perth.
It is worth noting that India has won their last two series in Australia by the same margin of 1-2 and has been declared the favorite to win once again. However, Daren Lehmann seems to have a completely different point of view. Furthermore, Lehmann also talked about how Australia needs to restrict Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as the two batters will prove to be the toughest challenge against the Aussies.
“Australia v India prediction, 3-1 Australia will win in Perth to start the summer on the bouncy track then quite even after that with the home team playing conditions better. Need to keep Sharma and Kohli quiet all summer,” Lehmann wrote on his ‘X’ handle.

India currently engaged in the Bangladesh series
Speaking of team India, the hosts are currently taking Bangladesh in a multi-format series. Both sides kicked off the series with a Test match. Notably, both teams faced each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, on September 19. As per their reputation at home, the home side registered a dominant win.

Having won the first Test, India is now preparing for the second Test against Bangladesh. Both sides will now meet in Kanpur for the second Test from September 27 and where India will hope to clinch the series, Bangladesh will be shooting to level the series and hoping to put in a good showing against India. It is worth noting that Bangladesh came into the series on the back of defeating Pakistan in their backyard, and they will aim to channel the same showing and hopefully upset team India.
