Quinton de Kock smashed a century and Aiden Markram scored a half-century as South Africa posted a huge total of 311/7. Clinical bowling from South Africa handed them a win over Australia by a margin of 134 runs in the 10th match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Australia opted to bowl first after winning the toss against South Africa. The openers, Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma, gave a solid start with a 108-run partnership. Bavuma fell for 35, but de Kock continued his onslaught and reached his century. He scored 109 runs with eight fours and six sixes. Aiden Markram also played a fine knock of 56, while Marco Jansen chipped in with a 26 that helped South Africa to post 311/7 in their 50 overs 

In response to South Africa’s 311, Marnus Labuschagne scored 46, but no other Australian batter scored much, and the team was bowled out for 177, losing wickets throughout the innings. The tailenders, Mitchell Starc (27) and Pat Cummins (22), made some contributions, but it was not enough. South Africa won the match by 134 runs, and Quinton de Kock won the Player of the Match award for his 109 (106) and two catches behind the stumps

2 – Rassie van der Dussen reached 2000 ODI runs in 45 innings and became the joint second-fastest batter to achieve this feat. He shares this record with Zaheer Abbas, Kevin Pietersen, and Babar Azam. The fastest batter to score 2000 ODI runs is Hashim Amla, who did it in 40 innings 

4 – Lungi Ngidi dismissed David Warner for the fourth time in ODIs and became the joint most successful bowler against him in this format. He shares this record with Chris Woakes, Lasith Malinga, Dhananjaya de Silva, Matt Henry, and Wayne Parnell, who have also taken Warner’s wicket four times each 

 4 – South Africa defeated Autralia by a margin of 100 + runs for the fourth consecutive time in ODIs.

 4 – For the first time Australia have lost four consecutive matches in World Cup. 

134 – Australia suffered their biggest defeat in World Cup history, losing by 134 runs to South Africa. Their previous worst loss in the World Cup was by 118 runs against India at Chelmsford in 1983.
