The much-awaited Boxing Day Test between Australia and India which is to be played at the iconic, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), is already making headlines as Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed a sell-out for Day 1. Notably, the venue holds a maximum sitting capacity of 90,000. As per the ritual, CA organizes a Boxing Day Test match on December 26, every year.

Hence, the upcoming third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25), is set to break new attendance records. For the first time, a non-Ashes Boxing Day Test at the MCG will witness a full house on its opening day. Besides, the Australian Cricket Board also announced that additional tickets may be released closer to the date due to the demand to accommodate more fans.

“There will be a possible final release of a small number of public tickets on December 24 for non-members to get their seats,” CA mentioned on their official ‘X’ handle.
