The Asia Cup 2023 is in its final week with just three matches left in the competition. India are currently on top of the Super 4 points table with one win from one game having a good net run rate of +4.560. On the other hand, Sri Lanka take the second spot with a net run rate of +0.420. The winner of the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka, 4th game of Super 4 stage, will rise to the top.

However, Pakistan will be hoping that India beat Sri Lanka as their net run rate got a massive hit following a 228-run hammering against India. They’re ranked on the third spot on the Super 4 points table with one win and a loss from two matches having a net run rate of -1.892. If India manage to beat Sri Lanka, they will qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final and Pakistan and Sri Lanka will face off in a virtual semi-final on Thursday, September 04.

However, if India manage to lose to Sri Lanka, Pakistan will be in a precarious situation as they will need to win their last game against the island nation by a huge margin. In that case, the Babar Azam-led side will also have to wish for India’s loss in their last game against Bangladesh to make their qualification process smoother.

Furthermore, if the India vs Sri Lanka fixture gets washed out, Pakistan will just have to win their last game against Sri Lanka to qualify taking the net run rate out of the equation. On the other hand, Sri Lanka need a win in one of their remaining two fixtures to make it to the final. However, if the remaining two fixtures in the competition get washed out India and Sri Lanka will face off in the final.

Bangladesh have an outside chance of making it to the final

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have the least chance of qualifying to the final as they’re ranked on the last spot on the points table with two loss from two games having a net run rate of -0.749. The Shakib Al Hasan-led side will have to win their last game against India by a huge margin and further hope for India and Pakistan’s loss in their respective last fixtures to stand a chance.
