Former cricketer Andrew Flintoff was involved in a horrific car crash in December 2022 while filming the popular BBC show Top Gear. The 46-year-old sustained several facial injuries and also broke his ribs and was away from cricket for over a year and it was only recently when the Lancashire-born made his return. Recently, he was named the head coach of Northern Superchargers men’s team in The Hundred and ahead of that, the all-rounder was spotted in the England camp, as they gear for a four-match T20I series against Pakistan.
Notably, Flintoff shares a close relationship with England’s managing director Rob Key. The duo was spotted having a chat in one of England’s practice sessions and later, he was seen having a conversation with the white-ball head coach Matthew Mott and selector Luke Wright. Neither of the parties has revealed if Flintoff has joined the coaching panel but he was seen wearing a baseball glove and was involved in throwdowns. If the former cricketer indeed joins the national, it is likely to be a short deal till the T20 World Cup.
