American Premier League launched at New York’s Times Square

In the heart of New York’s Times Square, the American Premier League made a grand entrance, and the iconic West Indies cricket legend, Chris Gayle, added a touch of stardom to the inaugural event. With the announcement of cricket’s return to the LA Olympics after 128 long years, the American Premier League is poised to become a seismic force in the cricketing world. As the debut edition approaches, all eyes are on the United States, where this new cricketing spectacle promises to seize the spotlight.

Blessed with the official blessing of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and a nod from USA Cricket, the inaugural American Premier League is all set to grace the cricketing stage in a T20 format. Texas’s Moosa Cricket Stadium will be the exclusive arena for this historic showdown. The competition is a seven-team affair, featuring Premium Indians, Premium Paks, Premium Aussies, Premium Afghans, Premium Windies, Premium Americans, and Premium Canadians.

During his address, league founder Jay Mir underscored the significance of the American Premier League as a pivotal moment in the evolution of cricket in the United States. He tantalizingly unveiled a constellation of cricketing stars, with a whopping contingent of more than 40 international cricketers set to illuminate the tournament, promising a cricketing spectacle like no other.

“American Premier League will prove to be a milestone in USA cricket, where opportunity meets talent. There are over forty international cricketers participating in the league,” said Jay Mir, founder of the League as quoted by Cricbuzz.

The American Premier League will enjoy live broadcast coverage on both television and various OTT platforms in a wide array of countries, including India, Australia, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Caribbean, and MENA nations.
