Seemingly a born leader, legendary cricketer MS Dhoni has often bailed the team out of precarious situations, be it CSK or India in the past. Even players have gone out to flourish under his captaincy while receiving the best possible advice in the game. Talking on the same aspect, former cricketer Aakash Chopra lavished praise on the CSK skipper and talked about players bringing out their best with Dhoni.

Chopra is of the belief that while all other teams find out players, Dhoni is the one who makes players. Quoting the example of Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube, the commentator added how the 41-year-old has the intrinsic ability to let players bloom under him.

“Ajinkya Rahane likes Bangalore and batted very well till the time he was there. Shivam Dube also batted very well. He was earlier a part of RCB and then the Rajasthan Royals as well, but what do you see with Dhoni – all other teams find players, MS Dhoni doesn’t find but makes players,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

It is heartwarming to see the players performing under Dhoni: Chopra

“It is heartwarming to see the players performing under him. Shivam Dube’s story is the same and we are seeing a different Ajinkya Rahane in the two or three matches he has played. He hit a pulled six – what a shot,” he added.

In Chennai’s latest match of IPL 2023, both Dube and Rahane were seen in fine rhythm with the former contributing a vital 52 off 27 and the latter chipping in with 37 off 20. On back on Devon Conway’s marvelous 83 off 45, CSK posted a sturdy total of 226 runs on the board. With Faf du Plessis (62 of 33) and Glenn Maxwell (76 off 36) on the crease, it looked like RCB would get over the line well within the 20 overs.

However, breakthroughs at important junctures and Dhoni’s cool approach let CSK win the high-scoring thriller by eight runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
