MS Dhoni (Twitter)
Chennai Super Kings fielding coach Tommy Simsek has rubbished the reports claiming that MS Dhoni once broke a television set in anger during IPL 2024. Match 68 of the tournament at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru saw hosts Royal Challengers Bengaluru wheeling away in celebration for quite a while after a tense win to qualify for the playoffs. The extended celebration left the players and the CSK staff hanging on the field, lined up to greet the home team for their 27-run victory.
Dhoni, whose 13-ball 25-run knock did not prove enough, as he was dismissed on the second delivery of the final over, was seen to break away from the queue with a strangely grave look on his face. He made his way to the dressing room as the rest of the members of CSK eventually shook hands with the elated group of RCB, after they were done celebrating the momentous occasion of qualifying for the playoffs by defeating their arch-rivals.
Harbhajan Singh, a former teammate of Dhoni for both India and CSK (2018-20), revealed in a recent interview with Sports Yaari that Dhoni’s frustration did not cease with his departure from the field, and in fact ended with punching a TV screen kept outside the visitors’ dressing room.

Dhoni likely represent CSK for yet another season
Coming to the seasoned veteran, the game against RCB on May 18 this year was his last competitive game. He has remained quiet on his future as far as the cash-rich league is concerned and there has been no official confirmation from either the franchise’s side or his own so far.
