The Indian team is currently in South Africa, where they faced off against the Proteas in a multi-format series. Currently facing the side in the second and final Test of the series, Team India has put in brilliant performances in the game as they aim to level the series after losing the first Test.

With the visitors bundling the hosts for just 55 runs in the first innings, India replicated their performances in the second innings as well. Bundling out South Africa for just 176 runs, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the show for India in the second innings. Notably, Bumrah took six brilliant wickets, dismissing the likes of Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, and Lungi Ngidi as India bundled South Africa out for 176.

Seeing Bumrah’s brilliant performance, the ace pacer’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of Bumrah’s son watching the game.

“5 for dad,” Sanjana captioned her Instagram story post.

India on the cusp of historic Test win

Bundling out the Proteas on a reasonable total was no easy task for Team India. The hosts had got off to a brilliant start to the second innings, whereby opener Aiden Markram scored 106 runs in 103 deliveries. However, none of the other batters were able to support Markram’s valiant effort from the other end.

The stand-in skipper Dean Elgar was sent back to the pavilion for just 12 runs, with Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs scoring just one run each on the board. As for India, apart from Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, and Prasidh Krishna were among the wicket-takers.

India needs 79 runs to win the second Test, level the series, and register a historic Test win in South Africa. Despite not being able to win the series after losing the first clash, a win in the second Test would prove to be a huge achievement for the Rohit Sharma-led side.
