The 14-year-old Mumbai opener Ira Jadhav smashed a triple century in the U19 Women’s One Day Trophy. She scored 346 runs embellished with 42 fours and 16 sixes and also broke Smriti Mandhana’s age-group record for the highest U19 score by an Indian. She remained unbeaten on 346 off 157 balls as Mumbai posted a humongous total of 563/3 in 50 overs at the Alur Cricket Ground, Bengaluru against Meghalaya.

563 is also the highest score by an Indian women’s domestic side across all tournaments and age groups. The right-handed batter also became the first Indian (men and women) to record a triple century across any BCCI-organized limited-overs tournament. It is worth noting that, she also registered herself in the recently concluded Women’s Premier League 2025 auctions, but went unsold.

Ira looks up to Jemimah as her idol

After smashing a splendid ton, she opened up on her cricketing idol and named star India batter, Jemimah Rodrigues as her idol. She also highlighted that she is taken in by the energy Jemimah carries through on and off the field. She also mentioned her memorable moment in her cricketing journey so far.

“There is one player who I think is my cricketing idol—Jemimah Rodrigues. I love the way she handles her teammates, the energy she gets into the team, her game, and her energy on the field. I am aiming for the National team. I also want to represent India at the World Cup,” Jadhav said as quoted by the Indian Express.

“It was the time I scored my first century (163) in a mixed team. This was in Pune a few years ago and the teams had a mix of boys and girls. That gave me the confidence that I could do well,” she added.
