एशिया कप 2023 के रोमांचक मुकाबले में श्रीलंका ने अफगानिस्तान को दो रनों से करारी शिकस्त दी। इस जीत के साथ श्रीलंका ने एशिया कप 2023 के सुपर 4 में अपनी जगह बना ली है। श्रीलंका की ओर से सभी खिलाड़ियों ने काफी अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया और अपनी टीम की जीत में अहम भूमिका निभाई।

मुकाबले की बात की जाए तो श्रीलंका ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 50 ओवर में 8 विकेट खोकर 291 रन बनाए। टीम की ओर से कुसल मेंडिस ने 84 गेंदों पर छह चौके और तीन छक्कों की मदद से 92 रनों की बहुमूल्य पारी खेली। उनके अलावा सलामी बल्लेबाज पाथुम निस्सांका ने 40 गेंदों पर छह चौकों की मदद से 41 रन बनाए। दिमुथ करुणारत्ने ने 35 गेंदों पर 6 चौकों की मदद से 32 रनों की पारी खेली।

चरिथ असलंका ने 36 रन बनाए जबकि युवा खिलाड़ी डुनिथ वेललेज ने 39 गेंदों पर 3 चौके और 1 छक्के की मदद से 33* रनों की शानदार पारी खेली। अफगानिस्तान की ओर से गुलाबदिन नायब ने 10 ओवर में 60 रन देखकर चार विकेट झटके जबकि राशिद खान ने दो विकेट हासिल किए। एक विकेट मुजीब उर रहमान ने लिया।

श्रीलंका ने जीता शानदार मुकाबला

अफगानिस्तान ने इस मैच में काफी अच्छी बल्लेबाजी की लेकिन वो मात्र 289 रन पर ऑलआउट हो गई। अफगानिस्तान की ओर से मोहम्मद नबी ने 32 गेंदों पर छह चौके और पांच छक्कों की मदद से 65 रनों की विस्फोटक पारी खेली। उनके अलावा कप्तान हशमतुल्लाह शहीदी ने 40 गेंदों में 5 चौके और 1 छक्के की मदद से 59 रनों की बेहतरीन पारी खेली। हालांकि यह दोनों ही खिलाड़ी अपनी टीम को जीत दिलाने में असफल रहे।

करीम जनत ने 22 रन का योगदान दिया जबकि नजीबुल्लाह जादरान ने 23 रनों की बहुमूल्य पारी खेली। राशिद खान ने 16 गेंदों पर चार चौके और एक छक्के की मदद से 27* रनों का योगदान दिया। श्रीलंका की ओर से कासुन राजिथा ने 10 ओवर में 79 रन देकर चार विकेट झटके। उनके अलावा धनंजय डी सिल्वा और डुनिथ वेललेज ने 2-2 विकेट अपने नाम किए।
