एशेज सीरीज के पांचवें टेस्ट मैच में इंग्लैंड ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया को जीत के लिए 384 रनों का लक्ष्य दिया था। लेकिन ऑस्ट्रेलिया 334 रनों पर ऑलआउट हो गई और इंग्लैंड ने 49 रनों से शानदार जीत दर्ज की। इंग्लैंड के जीत के साथ दोनों टीमों के बीच सीरीज 2-2 की बराबरी पर खत्म हुई। सीरीज का अंत तो शानदार अंदाज में हुआ लेकिन दोनों ही टीमों को वर्ल्ड टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप पॉइंट्स टेबल में तगड़ा नुकसान झेलना पड़ गया। एशेज सीरीज के बाद आईसीसी ने दोनों टीमों के अंक काट लिए हैं, जिसके बाद सोशल मीडिया पर फैंस जमकर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए नजर आ रहे हैं।
इंग्लैंड और ऑस्ट्रेलिया को लगा तगड़ा झटका
आईसीसी स्लो ओवर रेट नियम को लेकर काफी ज्यादा सख्त है। नियम का उल्लंघन करने पर आईसीसी टीमों के ऊपर जुर्माना तक ठोक देती है। एशेज सीरीज के बाद इंग्लैंड और ऑस्ट्रेलिया दोनों को ही (28 अंक) मिले थे। लेकिन स्लो ओवर रेट के चलते ही आईसीसी ने इंग्लैंड टीम के (19 पॉइंट) और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के (10 पॉइंट) काट लिए हैं। इंग्लैंड क्रिकेट टीम ने मात्र हेडिंग्ले में खेले गए तीसरे टेस्ट मैच में तय समय के अनुसार खेल पूरा किया था।
वहीं उन्होंने दो, नौ, तीन और पांच पॉइंट्स अन्य टेस्ट मैचों में गंवाए। वहीं दूसरी ओर ऑस्ट्रेलिया की बात करें तो ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने 10 पॉइंट मैनचेस्टर में खेले गए चौथे टेस्ट मैच के दौरान गंवाए, जो मैच ड्रॉ पर समाप्त हुआ था। स्लो-ओवर रेट नियम के कारण अंक कटने के बाद ऑस्ट्रेलिया 30 PCT प्रतिशत के साथ वर्ल्ड टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप पॉइंट्स टेबल में तीसरे और इंग्लैंड सिर्फ 15 PCT प्रतिशत के साथ पांचवें पायदान पर है।

भारत और पाकिस्तान को हुआ फायदा
इंग्लैंड और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अंक कटने से भारत और पाकिस्तान को फायदा हुआ है। पाकिस्तान ने हाल ही में श्रीलंका के खिलाफ 2-0 से टेस्ट सीरीज जीती। 100 PCT प्रतिशत के साथ पाकिस्तान पहले पायदान पर है। वहीं भारत ने हाल ही में वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ 1-0 से टेस्ट सीरीज जीती, भारत 66.67 PCT प्रतिशत के साथ दूसरे पायदान पर है।
