There are only a few days left for the World Cup in Qatar. This year’s World Cup will be held in a total of 8 stadiums in Qatar. And most of the money spent on building the most expensive World Cup stadiums in history. One of the 8 stadiums of the World Cup in Qatar is Al-Bayat Stadium, shaped like a Bedouin tent.
Located in Al Khor area of Qatar, this stadium is built for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is located in 35 km north from Doha, the capital of Qatar. The 60,000 capacity stadium will be inaugurated with the World Cup host Qatar vs Ecuador match.
The stadium is built in the form of a tent. The design of this tabernacle represents the historical tabernacles used by the Bedouins of Qatar and the Gulf region. However, this tent-shaped roof will be removed after the World Cup. There upper part will be converted into a five-star hotel. The park surrounding the stadium, the heart and protected green belt land extends from the stadium to the sea.
It may be noted that the stadium construction was given to Salini and Kimolai contractors in 2015. In January 2020, the stadium received sustainability certification due to its eco-friendly design, construction management and energy efficiency.
