Football World Cup will be held on November 20. Qatar, the host of this edition of ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’, has completed its preparations. 8 stadiums have also been prepared for the World Cup. Among which the Khalifa International Stadium wrapped in luxury in also in the center of discussions.
This stadium is located in Doha, Qatar. The multi-purpose stadium is named after the former Emir of Qatar, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani. The Khalifa International Stadium is one of the oldest and most iconic stadiums in Al Rayyan, about 5 kilometers west of central Doha.
Built in 1976, this stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. It was Qatar’s only football venue when it got the chance to host the 2022 World Cup. This stadium used to be chosen for any kind of sports competition be it football or athletics. Surrounding the architecture are the Aspire Dome, Aspire Park, The Torch Hotel and the Hamad Aquatics Centre. This beautiful stadium is now waiting for this year’s World Cup.
The modern designed stadium has a touch of luxury throughout. Ample canopies are also provided under the stadium’s double arches to maintain a comfortable temperature for players and spectators. It received a four-star rating in 2017 from the Global Sustainability Assessment System, which is first in the world.
