World Cup Stadium: Education City, One of the most luxurious stadiums in history

And after a few days, the Football World Cup known as ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ is going to start in Qatar on November 20. The host Qatar and FIFA have already completed all preparations ahead of this event. 8 spectacular stadiums have been prepared for the World Cup matches. One of which is Education City Stadium.

Al-Rayyan, about 7 km northwest of Qatar’s largest city, Doha, is the beautiful town   full of universities. Education City Stadium has been built there. One of the most luxurious and expensive World Cup stadiums in history, it is also one of the most eco-friendly stadiums in the world.

A total of 8 matches of this year’s World Cup will be held in this stadium. Among which there are 6 group stage matches. 1 second round and 1 quarter final match. During the match, 40,000 spectators can sit in the gallery of the stadium and enjoy the game live. However, after the World Cup, its audience capacity will be reduced to 20,000.

Built in 2003, the stadium was renovated for the World Cup in 2016. In 2020, when the renovation work is completed during the Corona period, it was inaugurated. The Islamic heritage of Qatar is represented in the design of this stadium. The digital lighting of this geometric shaped stadium is attracting people’s attention.
