Zimbabwe Women (ZIM-W) will lock horns with Ireland Women (IRE-W) in the 2nd T20I match of the Ireland Women Tour of Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on January 28. Ireland Women lead the series 1-0, where they won the first game of the series and would be looking to seal the series with this win.

These teams had last squared against each other in the first game of this series, which was played at the same venue where Ireland Women won the toss and elected to bat. On a good track, Ireland were off to a phenomenal start as both their openers were striking the ball excellently. They put up a brilliant opening stand worth 138 runs in 15.3 overs. Gaby Lewis lost her wicket after scoring a fantastic 56 runs, but Amy Hunter went on to hit a fabulous ton as she scored 101 runs and remained unbeaten. These knocks helped them post a huge total of 191 runs on the board.

Zimbabwe Women had a hard and steep climb ahead of them in this chase and they needed to start well for this. They started decently too scoring 38 runs for the first wicket but were a little slow with their approach. Losing two wickets at the score of 50, they had a good partnership for the third wicket, but as the game was progressing their scoring rate was going further slower, which meant they were batting themselves out of the game. By the innings came to an end, they still had wickets at hand but were left far behind of the total. They lost the game by 57 runs.

The track at the Harare Sports Club in Harare is quite helpful to batters in nature. Spinners are expected to do well here with good turns and bounce off the pitch. Batters, once settled can look to score big. Teams prefer to chase the total after winning the toss, with the average first innings score being 107.
