ENG vs WI Dream11 Prediction, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Playing XI, Pitch Report & Injury Updates For 1st Test

The two teams resume their rivalry in a fresh WTC season. West Indies are placed sixth on the table while England are placed last.

Preview

The iconic Lord’s Cricket Stadium is all set to host the first Test match between England and the West Indies, which will be played from July 10–14. Notably, this Test marks the final match for England pacer James Anderson, as the star bowler is set to retire from international cricket after this thrilling Test game.

The ECB has already announced their playing XI for the opening Test. The side is set to be led by Ben Stokes, who has two new faces, Gus Atkinson and Jamie Smith, who will be getting their debut caps. However, a few players have been dropped from the squad who played the last Test series against Team India earlier this year.

On the other hand, Kiargg Brathwaite is all set to lead the visiting side, and the series marks the presence of star cricker Jason Holder, who missed the bus of the 2024 T20 World Cup owing to injuries. Notably, the Windies squad looks very promising at this moment, as they will get tested by a strong English side playing at home.

Captains: 8.5

Joe Root ENG | bat

The English superstar resorted to the traditional style of Test batting and scored 320 runs in last Test series against India. Root has the form with him and will again be a good choice for the game.

Zak Crawley ENG | bat

Zak Crawley has looked in great touch with the bat in last Test series against India and he was top run-scorer of their team . If he gets the best of the batting conditions, Crawley might change the game at the beginning of an innings with his bat.

Alzarri Joseph WI | bowl

A right-arm fast bowler, Alzarri Joseph is an extremely talented bowler and a crucial member of his team. The pitch behaviour in the first match will give him an extra advantage, Joseph will be a game-changing pick for the match.

Ben Duckett ENG | WK

The English opener has been in great touch with the bat. Duckett’s aggressive style of batting and his current form make him an important pick for the game, but his only concern is his inconsistency.

Jason Holder WI | ALL
