DD vs RAN will face off  in the 21st match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on February 6. Durdanto Dhaka have won just one of their five games and are placed sixth in the rankings while Rangpur Riders have dominated the proceedings so far with four wins and topping the charts.

Durdanto Dhaka had played against Sylhet Strikers in their last encounter where Durdanto Dhaka won the toss and elected to field. On a slow and low pitch, Strikers did not start well and lost wickets upfront. They looked a bit dodgy but a good partnership for the fourth wicket and some significant partnerships later on as well, they posted a total of 142 runs. Dhaka too did not start well in the chase. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals which came back to haunt them in the end as they lost the game by 15 runs.

Rangpur Riders had played against Sylhet Strikers in their last encounter where Sylhet Strikers won the toss and elected to bat. Riders lost a wicket early but Babar Azam looked comfortable and had a good partnership for the second. Nurul Hasan too played a fantastic knock in the middle which helped them cruise to a total of 162 runs. Strikers had an abysmal match with the bat, one they would like to forget and move ahead. No batter looked comfortable other than Ryan Burl and as a result were bowled out for just 85, losing the game by 77 runs.

Match Information

The track at the Shere Bangla National Stadium is balanced in nature. With good seam and swing movement off the deck, pacers are expected to do well here as well. It would be a good contest between the bat and the ball here. Teams prefer to chase the total after winning the toss with the average first innings score being 146.
